Salary: £24,309 per annum
Hours: Full Time – 37 Hours Per Week

About the role
Do you enjoy helping others stay active, safe, and healthy? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Activity Assistant / Lifeguard to support the smooth running of our leisure centres and deliver a great customer experience.
This varied, hands-on role includes supervising activities, preparing and maintaining equipment, and lifeguarding duties. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our facilities are safe, welcoming, and supportive for all.
If you’re committed to customer service, enjoy working in a team, and want to develop your skills in a health and fitness environment, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Supervising and supporting customer activity sessions, including basic instruction or coaching
- Carrying out lifeguard duties and ensuring poolside safety
- Preparing and maintaining equipment and activity spaces
- Answering customer enquiries and offering clear, friendly guidance
- Supporting the development and promotion of activities and events
- Completing daily records, checklists, and incident reporting as needed
What we’re looking for
- Friendly, approachable, and confident with the public
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Ability to work within set procedures and as part of a team
- Some experience in a leisure or customer service environment
- Physically fit and able to move and handle equipment regularly
- A confident swimmer
- Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
Skills
Desirable:
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
