As a Beverage Sales Associate at Winn-Dixie's liquor store, you have a crucial part in creating a secure, welcoming, and effective retail environment for patrons. Your responsibilities include welcoming, aiding, and expressing gratitude to customers politely and promptly, proposing product alternatives when suitable, and ensuring the freshness and adequate stocking of department items. Additionally, you will need to monitor customers to ensure adherence to age verification regulations, handle department machinery with care, and uphold cleanliness and orderliness in the workplace. Responsibilities of Beverage Sales Associate:

  • Observe customers and check identification for age verification, identifying those who should not be served additional alcohol and monitoring to prevent open containers from leaving the store.
  • Deny the sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers.
  • Provide continuous attention to customer needs, greeting, assisting, and thanking them in a friendly and courteous manner, and offer product suggestions when appropriate.
  • Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and proper date control, restock and use supply items efficiently to minimize waste, and operate department equipment and tools.
  • Operate cashiering equipment accurately, recognizing all forms of tender and providing correct change when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and report any faulty equipment or hazards to management.

Qualifications of Beverage Sales Associate:

  • Individuals are required to be a minimum of 21 years old.
  • Completion of TIPS training is mandatory before commencing the position.
  • Proficiency in English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension, along with the ability to effectively follow directions.
  • Passing pre-employment drug screening and background verification is required for successful hiring.
  • Adherence to all the regulations and guidelines set forth by the organization.
