Job Title: Business Data Analyst

Contract to Hire

As the Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for providing analytical support to strategic initiatives within Wesco's Utility and Broadband strategic business unit (SBU). You will assist with performance measurement and opportunity identification within the business unit utilizing analytical tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI. You will lead analytics projects for industry comparisons, competitor evaluation, market segment penetration, and assessment of strategic business unit sales vs. market trends. You will conduct data analysis of current systems and processes, identify improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and provide close support to teams within the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of data analytics experience
  • 3+ years of creating executive level reports
  • 3+ years of establishing KPI's and building processes to manage them
  • 3+ years of implementing process improvements and change management
  • 3+ years of experience in a large complex company with multiple ERP's
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment such as strategy consulting or private equity strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Access
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Python
  • Advanced knowledge in creating executive level dashboards, reports, including graphs and charts
  • Strong detail orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent projects and deliverables
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
  • Strong process and data mapping skills preferred
  • Experience with data validation on large datasets preferred
  • Experience in supply chain, distribution and/or logistics functions strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel 0% - 25%

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data pertaining to the SBU, including national and local market size, customer behavior, competitive advantages, and overall SBU business performance.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to support business decision making and help to identify new market segments and industry opportunities.
  • Analyze customer, company, and market data to identify current trends and potential opportunities and measure achievement towards goals.
  • Provide analytical support to diligence efforts including identification commercial and supply chain synergies.
  • Collect and maintain data pertaining to the SBU performance, customer behavior, market intelligence and competitive intelligence.
  • Provide executive level updates regarding key initiatives, results accomplished, and current SBU performance.
  • Serve as a catalyst to promote process improvement and data-driven decision making and foster a continuous improvement culture throughout the team.
  • Employ cross functional collaboration with other Wesco analysts.
