  • HOURS OF WORK:

  • The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

  • WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • The Inpatient Clerk supports the patient care team and the patient experience on inpatient units. Responsibilities include: reception duties for calls and visits to the unit from internal staff, non-PRHC personnel; non-clinical patient assistance (responding to general inquiries, directing patients and visitors to the most appropriate clinical team member, providing assistance to obtain services); facilitation of communication (receiving mail, fax).

  • WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Successful completion of a Hospital Nursing Unit Secretary Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • WHO YOU ARE:

  • · Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations

  • · Demonstrated basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word

  • · Accurate keyboarding skills: 4500 keystrokes per hour

  • · Ability to type 35 words per minute

  • · Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a group as part of a team
