Job Description:

Summary

Ipsen is seeking a field-based Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), who will join our existing national team of Oncology CNEs, supporting the New England/Northeast Oncology portfolio.

As a New England/Northeast Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), you will join our existing national team of Oncology CNEs, supporting the Oncology portfolio and reporting to the Head of CNEs. You will have responsibility for the delivery of Health Care Provider (HCP) education primarily focused on Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and nurse educational programs related to disease state and the on-label Oncology portfolio while ensuring education occurs utilizing approved brand and unbranded educational materials. This is a unique opportunity to utilize clinical nursing expertise, education, and collaboration with HCPs to positively impact the well-being of patients through education.

Additionally, you will work in close collaboration with the commercial functions of Ipsen Oncology; Marketing, Training, Sales, Thought Leader Liaisons, and Value & Access Team, and will work in a strategic, thoughtful, and coordinated approach in support of Ipsen and overall Oncology portfolio performance within the territory. 

This role will cover the New England/Northeast territory which includes Upstate NY (excludes NYC), CT, RI, MA, Vermont, NH, and Maine. Coverage outside of the territory is needed at times and attendance/travel is required for Team, Regional, and National in-person Meetings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Utilize data, cross-functional insights, and insightful questioning that are impactful to determine engagement plan and territory management.

  • Proficient Oncology knowledge and ability to quickly learn products.

  • Assess education needs and deliver appropriate disease state and on-label product training for key customers and external groups as appropriate.

  • Education will occur using various channels for interactions (1:1 in person, group presentations, virtual education and via phone) while utilizing approved materials.

  • Proactively take steps/actions to build trust and relationships with the participants to establish a partnership and effectively engages with customer to meet education needs, utilizes effective resources, ensures follow-up education is scheduled and cross-functional partners are updated as applicable.

  • Optimize audience/customer engagement and demonstrate strong communication skills, presentation skills, and command of content to meet the customer’s education needs.

  • Effective preparation, organization, and execution of Ipsen Regional and National Conferences/Congresses.

  • Committed to a culture of collaboration and excellence while ensuring compliant partnering with cross-functional partners.

  • Be an advocate for the CNE role and team by bringing forward solution-focused ideas on how CNEs can contribute towards Brand Strategic Imperatives. 

  • Assist with staff training and Oncology Business Unit education needs as applicable.

  • Provide clinical and nursing insights to Marketing and Training team as applicable.

  • Ensure compliance by strictly following all Ipsen policies governing the promotion of pharmaceutical products in the US. 

Knowledge, Abilities & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in nursing is required.

  • Active RN license is required.

  • Advanced Practice Provider (MSN, NP, PA, DNP) degree preferred.

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Certification preferred.

  • 3+ years of specialty product experience with proven success in Oncology as Clinical Nurse Educator or clinical arena preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with oncology treatment processes and techniques, oncology/hematology hospital settings, clinical operation acumen and patient journey.

  • 3+ years of Nurse Educator training experience within biopharma, ideally including in-house experience at a pharma/biotech company preferred.

  • Adaptable to a variety of clinical settings; academic, private office, and community.

  • Competent in account/territory management.

  • Proficient knowledge in Oncology and ability to quickly learn disease state and product knowledge. 

  • Strong relationship and partnership building skills.

  • Ability to assess and provide appropriate education needs, effective resource utilization, and determines appropriate next steps/actions. 

  • Excellent communication skills, presentation skills, and demonstrates command of content to interface with both internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

  • Conference/Congress management and execution.

  • Able to function independently with minimal day-to-day supervision in a fast-paced environment and strong business acumen.

  • Existing relationships with Hospitals, Healthcare institutions and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Project, team lead, and regional initiatives participation and meets requirements of these roles. 

  • Ability to travel 50%-60%, including overnight travel depending on territory/geography.

  • Strong technical skills and computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and digital meeting platforms, such as MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
