Cloud/AWS Architect

Akkodis is seeking a Cloud/AWS Architect for a Contract with a client in Raleigh, NC(Remote). You will lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for large enterprises, ensuring compliance and high availability. Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Cloud/AWS Architect job responsibilities include: • Lead end-to-end cloud architecture-design, implement, and govern secure, scalable AWS (or Azure/GCP) infrastructure for large enterprise workloads. • Assess and modernize workloads, develop cloud adoption roadmaps and business cases, and define arenaflex-state architectures aligned to customer needs. • Design core infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, security, logging, monitoring) using AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch/CloudTrail (or equivalents on Azure/GCP). • Establish high availability and resilience, including cluster provisioning, load balancers, caching layers, and master/slave architectures; implement DR/backup strategies. • Drive architecture governance and best practices, create standards, reference designs, and thought leadership (whitepapers, seminars); mentor teams to build competency. • Collaborate with stakeholders across dev, security, networking, and operations to ensure compliant, arenaflex-optimized solutions, present architecture and recommendations to executives. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Minimum 10+ years of experience in IT with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture and infrastructure design. • Proven expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch) or equivalent Azure/GCP services, with strong knowledge of networking, security, and storage. • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing large-scale, secure, and highly available cloud solutions, including Infrastructure-as-Code and migration strategies.
