Job Title: Cloud Engineer, Contract role Location: Remote – US Must be PT or MT location Contract Type: Contractor (with potential for extension) Compensation: $52-72 USD per hour Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and arenaflex Cloud. The role involves ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of cloud environments; automating deployments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC); and supporting incident response, migrations, and upgrades. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud operations, automation, and DevOps, with expertise in Linux/Windows administration, scripting (Python, PowerShell), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and arenaflex/CD tools. A proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues, implement best practices, and collaborate across teams is essential. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or arenaflex Cloud. • Monitor cloud resources to ensure availability and scalability. • Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization. • Respond to and resolve time-critical customer issues in the public cloud. • Troubleshoot cloud-related infrastructure incidents and issues. • Perform customer deployments, migrations, and upgrades in the cloud environment. • Support automation projects, writing infrastructure as code (IaC) for provisioning and scaling resources. • Assist in ensuring security best practices for cloud are followed and customer data is secured. • Perform database operations such as backup and restores. • Collaborate with development, devops and support teams to deploy and manage cloud-based applications and resolve issues. • Create and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes. • Stay up-to-date with cloud technology trends and best practices. • Propose and implement improvements to cloud operations processes. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, MIS, or related technology field, or equivalent practical experience • 8+ years of experience in cloud operations and infrastructure management in AWS, Azure, or arenaflex cloud • 5+ years in incident response and major incident management • Advanced Linux and Windows experience • Certification in AWS, Azure or arenaflex Cloud is a plus. • Solid understanding of Cloud networking and security • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Powershell) • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools.
