Learn more about why we were selected here .<br><br><strong>Title: </strong> Community Relations Representative<br><br><strong>Salary: </strong> $66,597 - $83,246 - $91,571 per year (pay range explained below)<br><br><strong>Contract:</strong> Permanent<br><br><strong>Hours: </strong> 37.5 hours (core hours Mon-Fri 9am-3pm)<br><br><strong>Location: </strong> Vancouver Island Offices – Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy).<br><br><strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>As a Community Relations Representative you will be responsible for communication and collaboration with First Nations communities. You will develop trusting relationships with community engagement coordinators. As well as you will facilitate client engagement surveys and focus groups to gather feedback. Additionally, you will identify communication opportunities and develop material.<br><br><strong>About You<br><br></strong><strong>Education <br><br></strong><ul><li>A university degree with specialization in Health Sciences, Education or Social Services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience</li><li>Relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of coordination support to First Nation communities (usually acquired over a 3-5 year period)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience in developing and delivering presentations</li><li>Experience in research, writing, and note taking</li><li>Experience in analysis, writing reports, and providing recommendations</li><li>Experience in facilitating community engagement or consultative processes<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge, Skills And Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Knowledge and experience with the community engagement process</li><li>Knowledge of health-related issues and those affecting First Nations communities in particular</li><li>Knowledge of the BC First Nations political and governance landscape from the federal, provincial and regional context<br><br></li></ul><strong>Condition of Employment<br><br></strong><ul><li>A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Working Conditions<br><br></strong><ul><li>Community Relations Representatives are co-located in the regions with Regional Teams and communities</li><li>The work requires unplanned overtime and attendance at meetings after hours</li><li>The work requires extensive travel throughout the region and province<br><br></li></ul><strong>Please refer to Job Specification section of the Job Description for more details.<br><br></strong><strong>Working at FNHA<br><br></strong>As a member of the team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits, including:<br><br><ul><li>Municipal Pension plan with an employer contribution of 9.31%</li><li>3 weeks’ vacation, plus 5 personal days, 1 volunteer day, and 14 public holidays including National Indigenous People’s Day, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Easter Monday and Boxing Day </li><li>Access to group health benefits and a Health Care Spending Account through Canada Life on day 1 of employment</li><li>And more!<br><br></li></ul><strong>The First Nations Health Authority is committed to respecting diversity within our workforce; preference will be given to individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.<br><br></strong>Leading with culture, all FNHA employees complete San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training.
