Reports to Custodial Work Supervisor, Building and Grounds Supervisor/Superintendent, or other designated supervisor.Examples Of DutiesAdditional Basic Function – if applicable:Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes to renew floor surfaces; cleans and shampoos carpets.Cleans, dusts, and waxes furniture and fixtures; shampoos upholstered furniture; washes walls; cleans glass and mirrors; removes and hangs drapes.Empties and cleans trash receptacles.Changes light bulbs and cleans light fixtures.Scrubs, cleans, and sanitizes restrooms and shower facilities; replenishes supplies.Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; may set up rooms for functions and events.Maintains a clean and orderly supply closet; monitors supply levels and reports supply needs to supervisor.May perform minor maintenance; may assist with painting.Reports evidence of fire, illegal entry, and theft of property.May remove snow and ice from walkways; may assist with mowing; may pick up paper and other debris in area surrounding buildings.May train and direct student or temporary employees; may participate in training new employees.Performs related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsAdditional Examples of Duties – if applicable:License/CertificationValid Ohio drivers license, if required by position.Knowledge OfAppropriate safety proceduresSkill InAbility To:Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, shampooers, vacuums, hall machines)demonstrate physical dexterity and lift 50 poundsRead (e.g., warning labels), write (e.g., brief messages), and accurately follow oral and/or written instructionsPerform basic mathematics (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and to calculate percentages)Identify threatening or unusual conditions and take appropriate actionAssessmentsPreferred Qualifications – if applicable:Asterisk (*) indicates knowledge, skills, abilities which may require assessments.
