Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Database installation, configuration, and upgrades (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

  • Log Monitoring/Analyst, Troubleshooting, system monitoring

  • Support daily monitoring of database performance and system health.

  • Participate in data backup and restore operations as per defined policies.

  • Help implement database security measures including user roles, privileges, and auditing.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to query performance, deadlocks, and blocking sessions.

  • Support patch management and maintenance activities.

  • Maintain documentation related to database configurations and procedures.

  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support integration and performance testing.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of RDBMS concepts (tables, indexes, joins, normalization, transactions).

  • Familiarity with SQL and PL/SQL or T-SQL scripting.

  • Knowledge of database utilities and tools for Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Automation & Scripting: Shell Scripting, PowerShell, CI/CD Scripting, Infrastructure Automation

  • Eagerness to learn database internals, architecture, and security.

  • Good communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Exposure to Linux and Windows server environments.

  • Understanding backup strategies and disaster recovery concepts.

  • Awareness of monitoring tools like OEM, SolarWinds, or Nagios etc.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Shell or Python.

  • Writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

  • Query optimization and performance tuning (execution plans, indexes, shrinking partitioning).

  • Clustering, Always on Availability Groups, Mirroring.

  • User access management, encryption, row-level security.

Experience:

  • 7-10 Years

 

Education:

  • Education: MCA/B.E./B. Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline 2+ years of experience in solution architecture or software design.
