eCommerce Innovation – Free User Growth

Job Requisition ID # 26WD95542 Position Overview We are seeking an innovative growth specialist to help grow and activate our free user tier across Viewer, Education, freemium and Community audiences. This role focuses on driving holistic free-user growth through product-led distribution, ecosystem partnerships, education programs, and community engagement—rather than traditional paid-acquisition marketing. In this role, you will work within an established growth strategy to expand reach, increase engagement, and improve activation across non-commercial and early-stage user segments. You will partner closely with Product, Education, Community, Marketing, and Analytics teams to scale sustainable, high-quality free user growth that supports long-term adoption and monetization. Responsibilities Free Tier Growth Strategy & Planning Support execution of free user growth initiatives across Freemium, Viewer, Education, and Community segments Contribute to planning and forecasting free-tier growth targets aligned with broader product adoption and ecosystem goals Help define success metrics for free user growth, activation, and engagement across segments Support testing of new free-tier programs, distribution tactics, or partnerships under guidance from senior growth leaders Assist in evaluating new channels or community-driven initiatives that can expand reach and engagement Stay current on trends in education, community-led growth, and product-led distribution Viewer, Education & Community Programs Support growth of Viewer and read-only experiences by improving discoverability, onboarding, and activation paths Partner with Education teams to scale student, educator, and academic programs that drive long-term product familiarity and adoption Collaborate with Community teams to grow participation through forums, learning content, events, and advocacy programs Help identify moments where free users transition from awareness to meaningful product engagement Funnel & Engagement Optimization Analyze free user journeys end-to-end (visit → sign-up → onboarding → engagement) to identify drop-offs and opportunities Use experimentation and qualitative insights to test improvements to activation, engagement, and retention Collaborate with Analytics to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of free-tier growth and engagement metrics Monitor and report on key free-tier metrics such as sign-ups, activation, engagement, retention, and segment growth Prepare clear updates and insights highlighting what is driving free user growth and where friction remains Share learnings and recommendations to inform future growth initiatives and roadmap priorities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Education, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in growth, community, education programs, product marketing, or ecosystem-focused roles Experience supporting user growth, engagement, or activation initiatives in SaaS or digital products Strong analytical skills with experience using product or marketing analytics tools Preferred Qualifications Growth & Engagement Skills Experience working with free-tier, viewer, education, or community user segments Familiarity with product-led growth, community-led growth, or education-based adoption models Ability to design and evaluate experiments focused on activation, engagement, or retention rather than paid acquisition Tools & Analytics Experience with analytics tools Working knowledge of experimentation, cohort analysis, and funnel diagnostics Exposure to lifecycle or engagement tooling (e.g., in-app messaging, email, learning platforms) Collaboration & Communication Strong collaboration skills with Product, Design, Education, Community, and Analytics partners Clear written and verbal communication skills when sharing insights and program outcomes Curiosity and rigor in exploring how users discover, learn, and engage with products organically #LI-MK2 Learn More About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $91,000 and $163,350. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
