Equity Derivatives Investment Strategist

“I can succeed as a Equity Investment Strategist at Capital Group” Role summary: The Investment Strategist will work closely with the Investment Group to help shape and influence the use of derivatives in CG’s investment portfolios. The role will work directly with Portfolio Managers to look at risk and consider how best to manage it. Focus of the role will involve derivative usage considerations across different currencies and products, and the creation of new analysis to support market themes. The Investment Strategist will act as subject matter expert and proactive educator of derivatives internally and will also regularly liaise between the Investment Group and other functions such as Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk for special projects. “I am the person Capital Group is looking for” You work directly with Portfolio Managers to look at risk and consider how best to manage it. Focus of the role will involve derivative usage considerations across different currencies and products, and the creation of new analysis to support market themes. Utilize derivatives to support the setup of equitization and hedging overlays and strategies to drive more efficient investments and market views for Portfolio Managers. You act as subject matter expert and proactive educator of derivatives internally. Stay abreast of external key derivative trends and act as a subject matter expert. Educate internal shareholders by developing derivative education materials and lead office workshops across the organization. Conduct rigorous analyses. Propose and recommend new products based on diligent market research and understanding. You regularly liaise between the Investment Group and other functions such as Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk for special projects. Partner closely with Portfolio Strategists and bring an ability to collaborate and develop relationships inside and outside the organization that enable effective completion of business objectives. Work seamlessly with investors to help them build fluency with internal teams such as Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to support their objectives and ensure the effective dissemination of derivative related information. Skills/qualifications: You should have 5-10 years of equity derivative market experience. You have previously work experience within Equity Derivative Sales, Equity Derivative Trading and or Equity Derivative Risk is preferred. You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity. You demonstrate the ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team. You demonstrate the ability to identify, assess, respond to and escalate risks or potential risks encountered through day-to-day activities. You demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders. You demonstrate initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions. You demonstrate sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity.
