Provides comprehensive health and safety program support and services. Services may include general inspections, Industrial Hygiene monitoring, hazard and exposure assessments, and training. Performs other duties as assigned.<br><br>JOB DUTIES:<br><br><strong>40% - Essential - Industrial Hygiene Program <br><br></strong>Supports IH Programs such as Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, and Hazard Communication. Assists with hazard assessments to identify potential exposures including IH monitoring, noise assessments, and Indoor Air Quality investigations, and develops reports. Works closely with other departments including facilities and maintenance to provide consultations for controlling identified hazards.<br><br><strong>35% - Essential - Safety Program <br><br></strong>Develops and implements programs to provide technical support and compliance assistance for OSHA General Industry and Construction. Programs and services include but are not limited to shop safety, ergonomics, machine safety, forklift and mobile equipment safety, electrical safety including high voltage and arc flash, emergency preparedness, crane safety, fall protection and confined spaces. Develops and delivers a variety of OSHA compliance and safety training as needed. May assist in emergency planning and support including safety officer responsibilities university events.<br><br><strong>20% - Essential - Administrative Support <br><br></strong>Manages outlook email and calendar and other support administrative functions to include program documentation. Provides assistance for the OES Software Management system. Perform other duties as assigned by the Occupational Safety and Health Manager.<br><br><strong>5% - Essential - Reporting<br><br></strong>Compiles and submits quarterly and annual reports. Maintains required documentation and records.<br><br>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<br><br>Education - High School or Equivalent - Experience in environmental health programs or radiological health, A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience.<br><br>Work Exp 3+ years<br><br>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:<br><br>Education - Safety related Bachelor's degree<br><br>Experience in a college of university<br><br>OSHA 501 General Industry Trainer<br><br>OSHA 500 Construction Industry Trainer<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong>JOB KNOWLEDGE<br><br>Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations<br><br><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br></strong>No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.<br><br><strong>Budgetary Responsibilities<br><br></strong>No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.<br><br>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br><br>25% - Walk or move about<br><br>15% - Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc<br><br>5% - Ascend or descend (i.e. stairs, ladder)<br><br>5% - Position self to accomplish task (i.e. stoop, kneel, crawl)<br><br>25% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself<br><br>25% - Recognize or inspect visually<br><br>WORKING CONDITIONS:<br><br>10% - Mechanical hazards<br><br>20% - Chemical hazards<br><br>10% - Electrical hazards<br><br>10% - Exposure to dust/fumes<br><br>10% - Noise<br><br>May be required to work off hours<br><br>WORK SCHEDULE:<br><br>Standard Hrs: 37.5<br><br><strong>Compensation Information<br><br></strong>Expected Salary Range ($ 52,100.00 - $ 55,000.00)<br><br>Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.<br><br><strong>Essential Personnel Level<br><br></strong>Essential Level 1 employee<br><br>Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions.
