East African Smart Villages and Rural Mobility Limited (EASVRM) is a Kenya-based social enterprise with operations in Kisii, Nyamira, Bomet and Narok Counties. The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and people-oriented HR Assistant to support our Human Resources and Administration function. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, an interest in HR operations, and the ability to engage staff on the ground.

Based in
Kisii,
the role combines office-based HR administration with field HR support, including regular hub visits to reinforce policies, support staff welfare, and strengthen HR presence across our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including employee records, contracts, onboarding, and offboarding
  • Support recruitment processes and staff lifecycle management
  • Maintain accurate HR data and reports using HR systems/ERP
  • Conduct regular hub visits to:

Reinforce HR policies and procedures

Monitor compliance and staff welfare

  • Act as a first point of HR contact for hub-based employees
  • Prepare structured monthly HR hub reports with findings, trends, and proposed solutions
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal HR communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in HR and administrative support roles.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in an innovative, community development, or agribusiness environment is desirable.
  • Experience with creative tools i.e canva is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a startup or mid- level organization is desirable.
  • Must be located in Kisii or willing to relocate

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) / ERP platforms (e.g., employee records, leave, contracts, basic reports).
  • Ability to prepare HR reports, trackers, and summaries with accuracy and clarity.
  • Ability to handle HR documentation, filing systems, and audit-ready records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Google Sheets, and basic data analysis
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe tools.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
