Hydroelectric Plant Manager
Barton Village is seeking a Hydroelectric Plant Manager for limited part-time employment. The Hydroelectric Plant Manager will oversee the operation of the Barton Village West Charleston Hydroelectric Project. The Project is a 1.3 MW run of the river Hydroelectric Plant on the Clyde River in West Charleston, VT.
The position requires regular inspection, general maintenance, production and water level monitoring via computer, communication and directing other BVI staff, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the State of Vermont, and nearby hydro facilities on the Clyde along with overseeing contracts with vendors to repair/replace equipment. The position also requires the manager to be capable of reading and maintaining facility drawings and PLC systems.
Qualified candidates should have at minimum a 2-year technical education degree or engineering degree, or a minimum of 5 years’ experiences operating power plants or large generators, or a minimum of 5 years’ electro-mechanical facility maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, CPR certification (or acquire it in the first 3 months of employment). Candidate must also successfully clear a criminal background check.
The hourly range is $30.00 – $35.00, depending on experience. This position will be open until it is filled. Barton Village is an equal opportunity employer.
