Innovator Global Lab - Program Staff (Part-time)

Overview:

The Innovator Global Lab is a premium, blended research mentorship experience for ambitious high school students. In a 6-week intensive (incorporating a high-stakes in-person "Wet Lab Bootcamp"), students conduct primary research in CRISPR, culminating in a publication-ready research paper. We operate in partnership with world-class laboratory facilities to provide students with hands-on, experiential learning.

About the Role:

As the Program Staff member on-site in Singapore at the Life Sciences Incubator, you are the operational heart of the program. You will bridge the gap between academic mentorship and daily logistics. Your primary mission is to ensure that the Wet Lab phase runs seamlessly, students remain safe and focused, and all administrative benchmarks are met.

Dates: Cohort A: 13th June-26th June and Cohort B: 29th June - 10th July

Please note: This is a contractual role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations & Laboratory Oversight

  • Academic Logistics: Supervise the students at the laboratory site, ensuring they reach on time and the lab is stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Faculty Support: Liaise with Mentors and TAs to ensure they have the resources needed for their sessions, including distributing daily coursework materials.

  • Student Progress Tracking: Monitor student progress and homework completion, flagging any concerns to the Head of Academic Operations.

  • Data & Feedback: Facilitate the collection of student feedback via NPS surveys on the final day of the program.


2. Student Safety & Attendance

  • Attendance: Conduct and record official roll calls for every morning and afternoon session, informing our team about any absences.

  • Escalation Management: Handle student discipline and behavior issues according to our 3-strike policy and escalating high-level infractions to the Head of Academic Operations.

  • Emergency Response: Lead health and safety protocols, including accompanying students to local clinics or hospitals if medical attention is required.

3. Logistics & Communication

  • Communication Hub: Maintain the program WhatsApp group to provide real-time schedule updates and answer student queries.

  • Marketing Support: Capture high-quality photos and videos of students in the lab (following privacy permissions) to assist the marketing team in creating program assets.

  • Reporting: Submit a "Daily Rundown" report to the Head of Academic Operations to ensure off-site staff are informed of program status.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences; current Master’s or PhD students in STEM fields are highly preferred.

  • Location: Singapore Resident or citizen

  • Skills:

    • Proven experience in operational roles, ideally within an educational setting.

    • Experience working with high school or undergraduate students.

    • Strong communication skills

  • Availability: Should be available for both cohort dates as shared above.

  • Compliance: Must pass a mandatory background check for working with minors.

  • Training: Completion of required program training, including Safety, Mental Health, and Mandated Reporter modules.

Compensation & Inclusions

  • Total Stipend: SGD 4000 divided between two cohorts

  • Travel & Transport: Daily local program-related transport is covered.

  • Lodging: Single room hotel accommodation for the duration of the program as needed

  • Meals: Daily breakfast and lunch provided
