Currently, we are seeking an experienced Lead Director - Software Development Engineering to lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of our product engineering roadmap. As a key member of our team, you will drive innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. Additionally, this Director will be responsible for providing product strategic leadership and guidance for CVS Specialty Pharmacy. As a key strategic leader, you additionally will partner deeply with the respective stakeholders across the company to understand the customers, current product landscape, operational needs and business goals to develop long-term visions, technical strategies, and roadmaps that achieve outcomes and deliver value. Design thinking methodology is at the center of all you do, ensuring customer centricity is the core of your product so that you deliver the right value to the right customer at the right time. Expectations for the Role Accountable for leading the strategy and implementation of the product and technical roadmap Accountable for assessment of software engineering practices, driving continuous improvement, improving operational efficiency, time to market and overall product quality Leading engineering teams, guiding and mentoring them in implementing solutions across a wide range of continually evolving technology platforms People management including hiring, performance management, team building, leading career growth and skill development through coaching, and setting measurable professional goals Building and cultivating strong relationships with Business, Product and Technology partners to support the delivery roadmap Building relationships and partnerships with vendors to build contingent teams working onshore and offshore/nearshore to support our staffing needs Building relationships and partnerships with solution vendors in support of our technology needs Technology Research and Innovation to develop a long-term strategy based on emerging trends in AI REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of overall Software Development experience utilizing Agile methodologies 5+ years of experience in development of microservices using python, java [spring boot] 5+ years of experience in managing front end applications using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular 5+ years of experience in containerization tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, docker etc. 5+ years of experience with version control as well as CI/CD tools and pipelines such as GitHub actions, jfrog artifactory, argocd etc. 3+ years of experience with logging, observability / telemetry tools as required for a production grade web application such as Splunk, Dynatrace 3+ years of experience in cloud platforms (GCP preferred) 3+ years of experience in Test Driven Development and Test Automations 1+ years of experience using Agentic AI frameworks and generative AI based web-services and tools PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in hiring, leading high performing distributed multi-sited/remote software engineering teams Experience in performance management, team building, leading career growth and skill development through coaching, and setting measurable professional goals etc. Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven mindset Experience in defining and analyzing KPIs to measure project success Out of the box thinker and implementor with open source publicly visible work on GitHub Experience in understanding AI/ML algorithms, frameworks, and tools Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies Experience conceiving and building healthcare or wellness products Experience in Healthcare or Pharmacy domain Experience working with onshore and offshore technology resources from vendors EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience) BUSINESS OVERVIEW Bring your heart to CVS Health Every one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
