Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Coated Buckets

Job Description Summary Engineering associated with the turbine blade manufacturing process in the Coated Buckets Cell. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Job Description Roles and Responsibilities • Support the Coated Bucket Cell to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and arenaflex (SQDC) objectives for assigned Turbine Blade Machining Line • Lead and sustain 5S and visual management standards within the line and cell, including audits, corrective actions, and operator engagement • Proactively identify and resolve safety concerns, leading investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions • Drive proactive safety improvement projects, including risk reduction, ergonomic improvements, and hazard elimination • Lead quality problem‑solving activities using structured methodologies such as 4D and 8D, ensuring robust root cause analysis and sustainable countermeasures • Improve Line Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through sustainable process optimization, equipment reliability improvements, loss analysis, and collaboration with maintenance and operations teams • Develop, implement, and maintain standard work, work instructions, and process documentation to ensure safe, repeatable, and capable processes • Ensure standard adherence through regular audits, data review, and coaching of operators and production leaders • Coach operators on standard work, quality expectations, problem solving, and safe work practices • Support and deliver operator training, including initial training, cross-training, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives • Partner with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Engineering) to implement process and equipment improvements • Support GE Vernova Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, driving a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturing • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience Eligibility Requirement • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future • This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC plant - Garlington Road Desired Characteristics • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering or technical field (e.g., Manufacturing, Machining, Electrical) • Experience in manufacturing engineering within a high‑volume or regulated environment • Experience with Turbine Blade Machining processes • Demonstrated ability to apply 5S, structured quality problem solving (4D/8D), Lean Manufacturing, and OEE to a manufacturing environment for sustained improvements over time • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and influence hourly operators • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement • Ability to document, plan, and execute short to mid-term projects. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
