Job Title: Leasing Division Head

A well-established, leading retail brand in South Africa is looking for a dynamic individual to head up the leasing division that is based in Gqeberha.

You must be a strong negotiator that is able to secure sustainable leases for the relevant franchised stores nationwide.

Requirements:

  1. Matric
  2. Relevant Bachelor's degree would be advantageous
  3. Valid Drivers License with own car
  4. Sound knowledge of leasing and lease agreements
  5. Min 5 years experience in lease negotiations with high level landlords in SA

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for all leasing functions, including reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements
  2. Liaise with tenants in respect of negotiations and leasing concerns
  3. Prepare and update leasing schedules
  4. Contact landlords 3 months in advance of lease renewals to receive renewal offers from landlords to commence negotiations
  5. Consistently scout for new sites, and negotiate the relevant deals associated to potential new stores or relocation of existing stores
  6. Ensure board approvals on leasing decisions from landlords and Franchisor on behalf of Franchisees
  7. Liaise with legal division on the lease agreements and ensure sign-off on agreements from the legal division
  8. Review lease agreements for final approval
  9. Responsible for the productivity and budgetary performance of the leasing operations department
  10. Monitors leasing trends of competitors in the marketplace, to ensure the company is positioned correctly for the future
  11. Report on current deals, progress or status of deals, terms, updates and approvals
  12. Produce quarterly cost saving reports to central finance for review and collaboration
