Line Service Representative – Aircraft Fueling and Servicing
<p>The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Line Service Representative position at the County’s General Aviation airports, Henderson Executive Airport and/or North Las Vegas Airport. This position fuels various types of aircraft, utilizes mobile refueling equipment, is responsible for safety checks and aircraft service, provides customer service, and accurately records, reports, tests, and maintains written records of fuel services provided. Further, this position services aircraft using specialized equipment for General Aviation class airplanes. This position meets, directs, and marshalls transient aircraft to the appropriate ramp areas and ensures that aircraft are tied down and secured and/or have wheels chocked as necessary and not subject to inadvertent movement. Successful candidates will inspect movement and non-movement areas and remove foreign object debris (FOD) from the runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, ramp areas, and other airside locations as necessary. Additionally, incumbents in this position will work as a member of a team and assist and train other team members as necessary, as well as assist customers and crew with baggage handling and catering and assist in the removal of disabled aircraft from movement areas. This position will use standard office equipment for the completion of daily work.</p> <p>This recruitment will be used to fill positions at Henderson Executive Airport, located at 3500 Executive Terminal Drive, Henderson, NV 89052 and/or North Las Vegas Airport, located at 2730 Airport Drive, North Las Vegas, NV 89032.</p> <p>This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Employee Services.</p> <p>Employee Services reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<br /> Education and Experience:</p> <p>Equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of full-time aircraft ground servicing and fueling experience. Must remain current in an FAA approved Line Service training program (NATA Safety 1st Professional Line Service Training) and complete all CCDOA training as required.</p> <p>All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Fuels various types of aircraft, using mobile refueling equipment; accurately records, reports, and maintains written records of fuel service provided.</li> <li>Tests fuel deliveries to ensure quality; tests and inspects stored fuel in accordance with FAA guidelines.</li> <li>Tracks fuel orders on a daily basis; calculates the balances fuel usage at the end of each shift.</li> <li>Services aircraft using specialized equipment for nitrogen, aviator breathing oxygen, towing, potable water, lavatory, GPU/APU, interior cleaning, windscreen cleaning, etc.</li> <li>Responsible for the serviceability, cleanliness, and safety of aircraft fueling and servicing equipment (GSE); makes regular equipment safety inspections, completes the maintenance required and/or reports and documents needed for repair.</li> <li>Meets, directs, and marshalls transient aircraft to the appropriate ramp areas; ensures that aircraft are tied down and secured, and/or have wheels chocked as necessary and not subject to inadvertent movement.</li> <li>Inspects movement and non-movement areas, removes FOD and debris from the runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, ramp areas, and other airside locations as necessary.</li> <li>Works as a team member, assists and trains other team members as necessary.</li> <li>Assists customers and crew with baggage handling and catering; provides information regarding surface transportation and provides other reasonable services as requested.</li> <li>Receives bulk fuel storage shipments, performs fuel density calculations and quality control checks, and completes required documentation.</li> <li>Assists air traffic control in maintaining the security of the movement area.</li> <li>Keeps unauthorized personnel away from the movement area including runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, and aircraft parking areas.</li> <li>Reports suspicious incidents immediately to the proper authorities.</li> <li>Assists in the conduct of the Airport Emergency Plan, removes disabled aircraft from movement, non-movement and immediate vicinity using specialized equipment.</li> <li>Assists public safety personnel as directed in emergency situations and operates fire support vehicle, as applicable.</li> <li>Maintains accurate records regarding work performed and services provided.</li> <li>Performs spill containment and clean-up of various petroleum products and other liquid hazards.</li> <li>Thoroughly documents, photographs, and reports all incidents that occur on airport property.</li> <li>Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.</li> <li>Uses standard office equipment in the completion of daily work.</li> <li>Operates a variety of motor vehicles during the performance of daily duties and work tasks.</li> </ul>
