Linux Administrator


We are seeking a Linux Administrator with 8+ years of experience.

Mandate Skills Required:
  • Linux administration (installing, hardening, patching, performance and kernel tuning, logging, managing partitions and filesystems, authentication (including PAM). Distros: RHEL 8,9; free RHEL-derivatives (any of Rocky Linux, Alma Linux, Oracle Linux), Ubuntu;
  • Configuration management: Ansible (writing playbooks, managing inventories, variables etc);
  • Git experience (working with remote repositories, branches, managing conflicts). Gitlab preferred;
  • Understanding of networking (OSI model): IP addressing, subnetting, routing, load-balancing, ports, firewalls, connections. Person need to be able to troubleshoot distributed services, find issues and work with network team on resolving it;
  • Understanding of MySQL databases like how to work at database level, creation, modification of databases. Backup and recovery, replication;
  • Understanding of DNS servers like installation, configuration of bind in Linux (split-horizon DNS using DNS view) and basic understanding of how DNS works - record types, which type is used in which case etc;
  • Understanding of Web Servers like Nginx and Apache management, configuration of websites into web servers, SSL certificates;
  • Good English communication skills - both written and verbal;
Good to have Skills which will be an added advantage:
  • Understanding of cloud technologies like GCP (preferred) or any cloud like - aws and azure.
  • Understanding of managed SQL databases like - Cloud SQL in GCP OR RDS in AWS.
  • Understanding of Gitlab CI like how to create pipelines in gitlab etc.
  • Microservices (docker)
  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • Monitoring tools like prtg, grafana (snmp)
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration
  • Knowledge of Intune, Defender for Office 365, and compliance policies
  • Familiarity with hybrid Active Directory environments
  • Basic scripting experience in PowerShell for automation
