What You Will Do Provide support to manufacturing operations and drive process improvement to improve the company’s quality and delivery signature utilizing quality metrics. The Process Engineer will be responsible for Conventional Machining Process across the value stream. Primary responsible processes will include Turning and Milling. Additional processes may include but are not limited to Grinding, Shaping and Broaching. The scope of this role will include PW internal shop and may also include supply chain support components. Responsibilities: • With specific process ownership, this role will provide direct support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive multiple manufacturing process improvements across specific process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts. • Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs. • As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required • Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary. • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & arenaflex curves and Qualification plan. • The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations. • Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and ACE/CORE initiatives. • Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation. Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress. • Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance • Represent the organization in various forums. Develop standard work, procedures, and integrate industry-standard best practices. Qualifications You Must Have • B.S. in Engineering and minimum 5 years’ direct experience in Manufacturing or 8 years minimum of direct relevant experience in place of degree. • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing projects • Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously • Experience reading and interpreting drawings and industry specifications Qualifications We Prefer • Experience in Conventional Machining Processes • Experience in Rotating parts Manufacturing • Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience preferred • ACE/CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification • Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc. • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
