ERM’s Private Markets Value Creation team is experiencing rapid growth, helping investors and portfolio companies turn sustainability into a competitive advantage. This role is critical in shaping strategies that meet investor goals, accelerate energy transition, and create tangible business value. What Your Impact Is • Lead strategic and operational sustainability projects for private equity and infrastructure clients. • Design and implement decarbonization roadmaps that align with investor objectives and portfolio company growth plans. • Influence senior leadership teams and guide them through complex sustainability and energy transition challenges. • Drive measurable improvements in portfolio performance, positioning companies for successful exits. • Mentor and develop rising talent within ERM, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. What You’ll Bring Required: • 4+ years of experience in private markets (consulting or industry); 7+ years preferred. • Proven ability to manage corporate strategy programs and sustainability initiatives for mid-market companies. • Deep understanding of private equity/infrastructure investor dynamics, portfolio operations, and value creation levers. • Expertise in sustainability, decarbonization, energy transition, and operational efficiency measures. • Strong track record of delivering projects and influencing C-suite stakeholders. • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred: • Experience in market sizing, pricing engagements, and post-investment strategy implementation. • Familiarity with impact fund investor needs and industrial decarbonization solutions. • Background in building repeatable frameworks, toolkits, and performance scorecards. Key Responsibilities • Partner with ESG, investment, and operating teams to design and execute sustainability & decarbonization value creation plans. • Conduct commercial and operational analysis to identify, size, and quantify sustainability initiatives. • Translate sustainability strategies into actionable business models for long-term value creation. • Integrate decarbonization measures into broader portfolio value creation planning. • Serve as a leader and mentor to junior consultants; support proposal development and business growth. • Develop scalable processes and frameworks for sustainability programs across portfolio companies. For the Managing Consultant, Private Markets Sustainability & Decarbonization position, the anticipated annual base pay is $95,564 – $110,000 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.
