Discover a career in banking at Fifth Third Bank.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>GENERAL FUNCTION:</p><p>The MD, Asset Based Lending role focuses on originating, structuring and documenting/closing Asset Based Lending opportunities throughout the organization primarily through external bank channels (Direct prospect calling, Sponsors, Advisors, Intermediaries and other referral sources).  Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.  Reporting to the Group Head Asset Based Lending, the MD - Asset Based Lending will have primary responsibility for generating new business volume and leading a deal team of dedicated professionals on behalf of Fifth Third Bank within an assigned territory. The deal team will be responsible for pitching, structuring, underwriting and executing Asset Based transactions across the entire Fifth Third Commercial Bank platform.</p><p></p><p>Responsible and accountable for new business production goals, risk <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">assessment/mitigation</span> by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank's risk appetite.</p><p></p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li>The MD will be responsible for pitching, structuring, and executing ABL transactions to targeted Fifth Third prospects/clients (credit facilities from $10 to +$250 million). Establish and develop relationships with key prospects and referral sources as well as internal partners including Investment Bankers and Capital Markets teams.</li><li>Actively participates in networking functions and events, business and community organizations to maintain high visibility in the market and maintains strong working relationships with multiple groups to enhance the organization's lending relationship. Prepare and deliver detailed written presentations for various internal constituencies. Provide concise verbal presentations to internal credit committee and answer questions as required.</li><li>Lead a team of junior ABL bankers in carrying out day-to-day origination, and transaction management responsibilities ranging from opportunity evaluation to closing/funding.</li><li>Develop effective calling and business development practices that optimize time/resource management, and ensure sustainable delivery of strategic solutions for qualified prospects/clients.</li><li>Manage and prioritize a pipeline of financing opportunities.</li></ul><p></p><p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>May include direct or indirect supervision and direction of the day-to-day activities of junior ABL professionals.  Provide employees and key internal partners with timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback Develop employees to fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance career growth</p><p></p><p>MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p><ul><li>10+ years Asset-Based Lending or related financial services.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of Asset Based Lending products and market trends, private equity. capital markets, merger and acquisition structures, and understanding / experience with credit analysis is required.</li><li>Formal commercial bank/ABLcredit training preferred.</li><li>Proven track record of origination and closing complex loan transactions.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.</li><li>Demonstrable success originating and executing complex financial transactions.</li><li>Bachelor's degree required (MBA Preferred), ideally with concentration in Business, Finance/Accounting.</li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-JO1</p>MD, Asset Based Lending<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Total Base Pay Range 155,100.00 - 333,500.00 USD Annual<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>At Fifth Third, we understand the importance of recognizing our employees for the role they play in improving the lives of our customers, communities and each other.
