This is a unionized position that falls within the Corporate Technology Solutions department of the Information and Technology Services division. Provide system support during the production life cycle of information technology systems (developed by or purchased for (IT&I) by establishing user requirements, system design, integration of commercial products, software development, enhancements, troubleshooting, preparing procedures, consulting, training and researching commercial products. What you’ll do In this role, you’ll make a meaningful impact by contributing to the IESO team and supporting the electricity needs of the province through: Develop standards, participate in the development of strategic plans and provide operational and design specifications for Information and Technology Services (I&TS) managed systems, including M365 services. Provide systems design expertise to support the development of computer-based information systems/tools to meet the needs of customers by establishing user requirements, developing system designs, integrating commercial products, coding software and testing systems. Provide project management support to design projects/teams or information systems or tools. Design, build, and operate hosting systems which includes M365 services, and any relevant server and network components to deliver required system functions. Manage the evolution of existing M365 services, hosting systems, and tools by implementing enhancements to provide additional functionality, correct problems to improve reliability, maintainability, improve server management capabilities, and respond to advanced system problems or failures to restore system functionality. Perform M365 services and server management duties, prepare procedures and/or support personnel involved in M365 services and server management activities. In a typical day, you will Research commercial products and tools which can be used in the design or support of information systems and tools and perform ongoing assessments of their ability to meet current and future requirements. Provide systems consulting support to operations, maintenance or software development staff. Develop procedures required for the secure operation and management of information systems or tools. Perform hosting attestation to ensure compliance to set standards, meeting requirements, and identification of improvement opportunities. Act as a consultant or mentor to peers to advance their learning and facilitate their problem-solving skills with their respective areas of expertise. Perform other duties as required. Role Requirements To succeed in this role, you’ll need: Requires knowledge of computer science and programming to carry out technical, or analytical studies as it relates to the deployment and maintenance of M365 services (including Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Purview, and more) as well as provide advice and guidance to others. Requires experience in the design, deployment, and support of M365 services and relevant computer systems. Requires knowledge of technical writing to prepare effective reports, procedures, and training materials. Experience in automation and scripting languages, including PowerShell. A minimum of eight (8) years experience in Information technology, ideally in designing and maintaining cloud services and infrastructure solutions.
