Neighborhood Contact Officer (NCO)

The Community Outreach Division is establishing an eligibility list to be utilized in filling an opening as a <strong data-pasted="true">Neighborhood Contact Officer</strong>. <p data-pasted="true"><strong>Eligibility Requirements: </strong>Must be a sworn officer off probation, with at least 3 years in a sworn capacity at the Boise Police Department.  For purposes of determining eligibility for this position, any experience, time at BPD or service requirements are “as of the date/time of this posting.” These requirements may be waived or adjusted at any time at the discretion of the Chief of Police.</p><p data-pasted="true"><strong>Selection Process:</strong> The selection process will include an oral board interview and may include a practical assessment.</p><p>The following areas may be evaluated/scored in the selection process: supervisor evaluation, training record, report writing, discipline history as defined in policy, stat analysis for the previous year, skills and demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with community members, key stakeholders, City leadership, and working in small team dynamics.</p><p>Following the selection process's completion, a selection recommendation will be made to the Captain of the Community Outreach Division. The COD Captain, or his designee, will select the most qualified candidate.
