Job Summary

Position Summary

Assists in providing basic and intermediate nursing care to assigned group of patients.

General Nursing Units care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.
Special Care Areas care for patients age 15 years through adult with high risk conditions by clinical competent nursing staff.
Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition by staff who are clinically competent in maternity care.
Nursery care includes care for newborn until discharge status by clinically competent staff.
Pediatric clinically competent staff provides care to patients neonate through age of fourteen.
GI Lab Unit cares for toddlers, beginning age 24 months, through adult by clinically competent staff.
Behavioral Health and Geropsychiatric Unit cares for adult patients and family with holistic approach to emotional problems by clinically competent nursing staff.
Emergency Unit provides care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric and high risk adult care.
Acute Rehab Unit provides care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff.

Able to work at least eight hours per pay-period. May work shift in increments of 4, 8, 10 and 12 hours as assigned. Completes established
competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, professional nursing (RN) program. Must be entering their final clinical practicum rotation in nursing school.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Successfully completed a basic clinical skills lab. Skills checklist may be used to validate experience.

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):

  • Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position if working in the ED or Behavioral Health Area.
