Ready for a career glow up? As Director of Brand Marketing, Makeup , you'll be building strategies that drive retailer preference for the makeup category and leading high-impact brand partnerships. The work you do will impact beauty, as you create innovative marketing programs that elevate brands and delight our clients. Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-functional development of annual category strategy through the lens of the client, managing co-op planning across all Sephora co-op programs including multi-brand, single brand, and retail media network initiatives
  • Partner with priority brands to build full 360-degree marketing plans leveraging retail levers including stores/animations, digital media, social content, and sampling programs to drive awareness and sales
  • Spearhead high-profile initiatives including Sephora's 15% Pledge and BIPOC brand support, determining optimal support models and developing pathways for brands to share best practices and build a supportive ecosystem
  • Develop innovative partnership models for Next Big Thing and Incubation brands, including Marketing in the Kitchen sessions, webinar content series on social media and influencer best practices, and accessible sampling programs
  • Collaborate with merchandising to develop sub-class and brand strategies that ladder into the overarching makeup strategy, creating unique marketing programs for individual or multiple brands
  • Oversee category sampling forecast and program development, including procurement and management of Beauty Insider samples, and partner with sampling operations teams to develop win-win solutions for brand challenges
  • Manage team workload to provide best-in-class partnerships, constantly evaluating the type of partnership being delivered and ensuring the team develops impactful brand and product launch campaigns
  • Develop career paths and training plans for each team member, dedicating weekly time to guide direct reports through brand questions and issues, fostering their growth as marketing leaders
  • Partner with Senior Director of Category and Brand Marketing on annual planning, webinar planning, brand development, and co-op planning across all retailer levers
  • Lead day-to-day category initiatives related to co-op, sampling, brand participation in campaigns, reporting, and hindsighting to continuously optimize performance

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in brand management/marketing in a consumer-facing business, digital content publisher, or digital agency (brand-facing background at Sephora highly preferred)
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions, approaching problems with the mindset of what is best for the client or brand
  • Honed presentation skills with confidence presenting your point of view in multiple forums, including at the leadership level, articulating complex strategies clearly and persuasively
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional partners toward shared goals
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, managing multiple priorities and high-profile initiatives simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Creative self-starter with a can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach, willing to dive into details while maintaining strategic perspective
  • Proven ability to lead, build relationships, and work effectively in a highly cross-functional team environment, fostering collaboration across merchandising, operations, and brand partners
