Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Exhibits shrewd and thoughtful decision-making abilities when providing patient care. Adheres to protocols established by nationally recognized and evidence-based standards in all aspects of therapy. Renders therapeutic interventions that deliver outcomes surpassing or meeting the departmental targets.
  • Generating timely, accurate documentation that complies with departmental standards for medical necessity verification.
  • Provides the appropriate paperwork to facilitate billing, keeping charges and authorizations accurate. Efficiently manages time and maintains productivity standards specified by the department.
  • Fulfills all necessary educational requirements with a strong sense of responsibility, recognizing the importance of staying up-to-date with current nursing practices.
  • Conducts supervision in accordance with requirements established by state, federal, and professional associations.
  • Fosters open communication between patients, family members, caregivers, and healthcare providers to facilitate optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Observe and comply with all insurance, accrediting, and regulatory requirements as required by national and state authorities.
  • Unspecified obligations that could arise.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelors: Physical Therapy

Certification - Physical Therapist (PT) - South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy

Preferred:

Education - Masters: Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
