Pre-Primary Teacher

Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom Management & Instruction

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood learning standards.

  • Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Use play-based and hands-on learning activities to support developmental milestones.

  • Support language development, early literacy, early math, and social skills.

2. Child Development & Safety

  • Observe and assess children’s progress; document developmental milestones.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

  • Manage behavior using positive reinforcement and gentle guidance techniques.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of classroom materials and play areas.

3. Communication

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events.

  • Participate in parent–teacher conferences, school meetings, and team collaboration.

  • Provide daily updates or reports on each child’s activities, meals, and learning.

4. Curriculum & Activities

  • Plan and supervise activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, music, physical play, sensory activities, and group games.

  • Encourage creativity, curiosity, independence, and problem-solving through guided exploration.

  • Organize special events, celebrations, and field trips when appropriate.

5. Professionalism & Compliance

  • Maintain required certifications (First Aid/CPR, Early Childhood Education training, etc.).

  • Follow school policies, health regulations, and child protection guidelines.

  • Continuously participate in professional development.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

  • Valid teaching certification or ECE qualification (varies by country/region).

  • Experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting.

  • Strong communication, patience, creativity, and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and families.
