Principal Systems Engineer – Requirements Management

Job Description: • Lead Requirement Definition: Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to define and manage detailed system and component requirements for BESS and solar products, translating high-level needs into actionable specifications. • Own the Lifecycle: Oversee the entire requirements lifecycle, from initial concept to post-market activities, ensuring comprehensive coverage. • Ensure Traceability: Implement and maintain robust traceability matrices linking customer needs, product requirements, design elements, and test cases. • Drive Best Practices: Champion and establish industry-leading best practices for requirements management, documentation standards, and configuration control. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure accurate understanding, implementation, and validation of requirements. • Manage Change: Proactively manage requirement changes, assess impacts, and communicate effectively across all teams. • Mentor & Improve: Provide mentorship on requirements management to junior engineers and continuously identify opportunities to enhance our processes. Requirements: • 8+ years in engineering, with significant Systems Engineering experience in utility-scale solar and energy storage or related experience • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field • Proven expertise in the generation, verification, and validation of complex requirements, including proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS) • Strong problem identification, root cause analysis, and a systematic approach to complex challenges.
