Production Manager, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Prime Video, India is seeking an experienced Production Manager to work on Hindi Originals- series, films and unscripted projects. This role requires an experienced production professional who can manage complex projects while collaborating with creative and business teams to deliver world class content for our Indian audience.

Key job responsibilities
Production Management & Oversight
  • Independently negotiate and analyze budgets for low to mid-level Hindi scripted series
  • Oversee multiple scripted projects simultaneously across development and production phases
  • Be present on-set when necessary to evaluate workflow efficiency, monitor budgets and identify potential challenges
  • Lead project kick-off meetings with internal stakeholders and external production partners
  • Ensure adherence to Prime Video Studios policies, standards, and best practices

Financial Oversight & Analysis
  • Analyze cost reports and production budgets with attention to detail- industry experience is needed to know what market rates and costs are
  • Track and process payments including purchase orders, budget overages and above-the-Line expenses
  • Manage development and package fees through studio system tools
  • Evaluate external production budgets and provide inputs on budget optimization, scheduling, and production execution plans

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with executive producers/line producers, show production managers and creative executives to negotiate development and production budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including creative, business affairs, legal, finance, music, VFX and post-production.


Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and show checklists tracking major milestones, understand and monitor call sheets and DPRs
  • Ensure all projects comply with studio guidelines and industry regulations
  • Monitor project milestones and deliverables throughout the production lifecycle
  • Maintain updated knowledge of local industry policies, guilds, and Government requirements

A day in the life
Daily activities include collaborating with peers across creative, music, BA, legal and finance departments, along with staying on top of upcoming and existing projects and all the details there in. Regular manager updates, attendance of multiple key meetings, external partner visits- both in office and on shoot, and keeping key data updated on the system, are all part of the job.

About the team
The Production & Post teams at Prime Video oversee the entire production cycle of every project on the originals slate from start to finish. We work closely with our peers and partners to enable efficient film making, delivering multiple titles per month for the platform, across genres and languages.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of budgeting, scheduling and cost reporting experience
  • 4+ years of producer, production manager or line producer experience
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in overseeing and managing projects and deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with a variety of digital media workflows and post production
  • Experience working directly with artists, songwriters, or other creative professionals
