Job Summary

A licensed psychologist to conduct psychological/neuropsychological testing as is relevant for treatment plan clearance such as bariatric surgery clearance. This job also includes preparation for success with the clearance plans for bariatric surgery process including psychotherapy and follow up if needed.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Works in direct contact and collaboration with team psychiatrist. Maintains appropriate records in accordance with state, federal laws and Monument Health policies, procedures and standards.
  • Performs evaluation/testing to determine the ability to proceed with and have long term success with the treatment plan and/or bariatric surgery process.
  • Conducts Healthcare teaching and counseling of patients regarding treatment plan and/or bariatric surgery process.
  • Demonstrates the ability to appropriately assess patients, apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and implement changes to the plan of care. Anticipates and communicates changes in patient status to meet the needs of the patient.
  • Documents all procedures and/or services to patients in accordance with established procedures to ensure accurate billing to patient accounts.
  • Performs and documents comprehensive initial patient assessment, utilizing appropriate guidelines and psychometric testing as described by the guiding societies, including but not limited to the ABMBS and APA.
  • Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment as warranted and formulates plan of care in collaboration with the other medical providers including the bariatric team.
  • Recognizes physical, developmental, and psychosocial distress of patient, and provides appropriate interventions.
  • Provides cross-coverage for other providers and exhibits an ability to adjust to other providers’ preferred style.
  • Completes documentation according to facility policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - Doctoral degree from an APA accredited program.An APA accredited internship
Certifications - Currently licensed in the USA and licensed or license eligible in the state of SD


Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
