RAMS & Systems Assurance Engineer - UAE

EWI are supporting a leading international organisation involved in one of the region's most significant and high‑profile rail programmes. As part of their expanding Systems Assurance team, they are looking to appoint an experienced RAMS & Systems Assurance Engineer to support safety, reliability, and compliance activities across a major national rail initiative.

You'll be joining a globally recognised engineering and certification body known for delivering Independent Safety Assessment, system assurance, and inspection services across complex metro, mainline and high‑speed rail projects worldwide. In the UAE, they play a key role in the safe development and expansion of national rail infrastructure.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems, subsystems, and interfaces within the railway meet the required safety, reliability, and availability standards throughout the project lifecycle. This includes assessment, documentation review, audits, and stakeholder coordination, supporting the successful certification and authorisation of rail systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct RAMS activities in accordance with EN50126 / EN50128 / EN50129 standards
  • Review and assess safety cases, hazard logs, RAM analyses, FMECA, FTA, and related deliverables
  • Support Independent Safety Assessment and system assurance processes
  • Participate in audits, workshops, design reviews, and verification activities
  • Ensure compliance with national and international railway safety regulations
  • Interface with engineering teams, contractors, authorities, and certification bodies
  • Prepare technical reports, findings, and recommendations
  • Contribute to system-level integration, testing oversight, and readiness assessments

Required Experience

  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in RAMS, System Assurance, or Safety Engineering within rail (Metro, LRT, Mainline, or High‑Speed)
  • Strong knowledge of CENELEC standards (EN5012x series)
  • Background in signalling, rolling stock, systems integration, or related disciplines desirable
  • Previous involvement in large‑scale rail infrastructure programmes preferred
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
