[Remote] Data Governance Contractor (Senior Functional Data Analyst)

The role involves shaping and maturing data governance frameworks while delivering BI outputs such as dashboards and KPI reporting. Responsibilities • Create, refine, and maintain enterprise data governance standards and best practices • Lead the implementation of data stewardship and data ownership models • Drive data lineage, metadata management, and data quality initiatives • Assess current data maturity and recommend strategic improvements • Develop dashboards, data models, and reporting frameworks (Power BI/Tableau/etc.) • Translate business requirements into technical specifications • Perform data quality analysis and root‑cause investigations • Partner with data engineering to validate pipelines, models, and schemas • Act as liaison between technical and non‑technical stakeholders • Conduct training sessions on governance processes and BI best practices • Create clear documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and governance artifacts Skills • 5-8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Analysis, BI, or related functions • Experience designing or contributing to data governance frameworks • Strong BI tool proficiency (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) • Strong SQL and relational modeling experience • Experience with metadata management, lineage tools, and data quality remediation • Excellent communication and documentation skills • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS, GCP) • Familiarity with Collibra or Alation • Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments Company Overview • Harnham has actively chosen to focus on Data and Analytics.
