[Remote] Field Technician (Bridgeport, CT)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. L3Harris Technologies is a leader in defense technology, seeking a Field Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment at the Boston Air Route Control Center and remote sites.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, repair, configuration, test and preventative maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment and/or computers
  • Maintain records on repairs, downtime, changes and updates
  • Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Serve as the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC
  • Install hardware and software including operating system and office applications
  • Responsible for providing computer hardware, software and network technical support to end-users
  • Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software

Skills

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
  • Ability to work from home, in an “on-call” status
  • Capable of lifting 70 pounds
  • Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 4-hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed
  • Posses and maintain a valid Driver's License, and satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment
  • Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
  • Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
