[Remote] Private Equity Owned Company - Global Controller

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Robert Half is seeking a Global Controller for a Private Equity Owned Company. This role involves overseeing accounting operations, managing M&A transactions, and preparing financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, while collaborating with various departments to support financial strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, consolidations, revenue recognition, project accounting, intercompany, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Manage corporate overhead accounting, including tracking, analysis, and strategic allocation of corporate expenses to business units
  • Maintain a high level of data integrity and consistency in financial reporting across entities and functions
  • Develop and maintain robust financial policies, accounting procedures, and internal documentation in line with best practices and regulatory expectations
  • Serve as a key finance liaison to the Company’s private equity sponsors, supporting investor reporting, covenant compliance, and board materials
  • Lead purchase price accounting (PPA) and post-acquisition integration activities for all M&A transactions
  • Support the CFO and corporate development team with due diligence, deal structuring, and integration strategy
  • Build and lead a high-performing global accounting team, emphasizing talent development, accountability, and performance
  • Identify and drive process improvements, finance transformation initiatives, and ERP system optimization (Intacct)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Legal, HR, and Operations to support decision-making and ensure alignment of financial strategy

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
  • Private equity owned company experience required
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Proven ability to lead M&A financial integration and execute on purchase price accounting
