[Remote] Sales Manager - Southern Region (BASF-Chemetall)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BASF is a leading supplier of applied surface treatments worldwide, and they are seeking a Sales Manager for the Southern Region. This role involves managing sales performance, defining organizational responsibilities, and influencing strategic direction within the sales department.


Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Sales performance/results of an organizational regional unit
  • Defines organization, roles and responsibilities, and budget for the Sales organizational region unit
  • May lead through subordinate managers
  • Focuses on sales results, strategy alignment, implementation, and policy development
  • Decisions are guided by divisional and/or group unit; priorities contribute to the development of the Sales department strategy
  • Impacts the Sales performance and future direction/strategy of the department and sub-department
  • Exercises control over sizeable resources, supporting and funding projects, products, services, or technologies
  • Negotiate and influence others internally and externally, including senior leadership within the company and customers
  • Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems, applying advanced analytical thought and judgement
  • Apply industry expertise and commercial awareness to drive sales and margin results and operational performance

Skills

  • Bachelors degree is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of surface treatment industry experience; with in-depth knowledge of competitive environment as well as internal and industry standards
  • Minimum of 5 years of Leadership Experience: prior experience with leading and managing Sales and Service Teams
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and develop a sales team
  • Well, organized with sales planning and territory management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with key account management or support
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent coaching skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Sales and Business acumen. (Account & relationship management, value-based selling, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of CRM (Salesforce), PPT, and Excel
  • Travel: ability to travel 50% and including overnight travel
