[Remote] Senior Title Examiner and Project Coordinator (Remote)

The Senior Title Examiner and Project Coordinator will examine title chains for residential properties, perform complex title examinations, and mentor less experienced team members while supervising special projects. Responsibilities • Examines chain of title primarily for residential properties but may expand into commercial and/or industrial • Performs title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise • Abstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records • Writes title products based on the interpretation and application of procedural guidelines • Provides underwriting interpretation within established guidelines • Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members • Answers routine day to day questions received from the team • Responsible for supervising special projects assigned by the department manager. Tasks may include delegating responsibilities to other team members • Immediately escalating issues/concerns to department manager • May have customer contact • Consistently acts within accordance of the Vacation Ownership's Services Golden Rules and exhibits core First American values • Will not be responsible for any direct reports Skills • 4+ years of experience with both title exam and title searching • Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents • Able to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Research skills • Complex problem-solving skills • Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible to changing demands • Solid administrative skills • Strong knowledge of industry and company operating systems, tools and applications • High school diploma or equivalent • Title Agent license preferred but not required • Commercial experience a plus Benefits • Medical • Dental • Vision • 401k • PTO/paid sick leave • Employee stock purchase plan Company Overview • First American provides financial services through its Title Insurance and Services segment and its Specialty Insurance segment.
