[Remote] Software Tester

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Amatriot Group is seeking a Software Tester to support testing of web-based applications in a remote environment. This role focuses on ensuring application quality, reliability, and usability across ongoing software development efforts.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications
  • Perform manual testing and contribute to automated testing efforts where appropriate
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other team members to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact assessment
  • Perform regression testing to validate fixes and ensure existing functionality remains stable
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and reviews
  • Support compliance with government security and quality standards, including Public Trust requirements
  • Continuously improve testing processes, documentation, and overall QA practices

Skills

  • Experience utilizing selenium and other tools for automation
  • Experience with manual testing, with some exposure to test automation
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development environments
  • Ability to write clear, concise defect reports and communicate effectively with remote team members
  • US citizenship with residency in the Lower 48 States
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fully remote environment
  • Experience testing applications built with Ruby on Rails (RoR) and/or Grails
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, RSpec, Cucumber, or similar frameworks
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining automated regression test suites
  • Prior experience supporting government or regulated IT programs
