[Remote] Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VVL Systems & Consulting is a technology consulting firm that provides innovative solutions to both private and public sector customers. They are seeking a Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist to perform technical writing and documentation duties for the Department of Interior, including developing project documentation and translating technical information into clear documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Has a minimum of three years of relevant documentation management experience
  • May coordinate with business and technology teams, documenting system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls
  • Conduct client interviews
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently under general supervision to complete tasks as schedules and to manage the project’s document repository according to Department guidelines and best practices
  • Responsibilities include developing technical project documentation, reports, and supporting the development of training materials
  • Perform initial and iterative updates to product documentation
  • Requires excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to interface effectively with SMEs and managers of all levels
  • Ensures completion of all committed documentation tasks in parallel with system development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts
  • Develops new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity
  • Translates technical information into clear, understandable documentation to be used by technical and non-technical staff
  • Advises and assists team members on documentation standards and use of documentation repositories
