RN Emergency Room | San Antonio, Texas

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care at a leading medical center in San Antonio, TX. This contract role offers a dynamic work environment within a hospital dedicated to enhancing community health through comprehensive and compassionate care.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting.
  • Participate in conscious sedation, intubations, behavioral health watches, and manage critical conditions such as sepsis, stroke (including TPA administration), and chest pain alerts.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and support hospital floating policies as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation using Meditech systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses are not accepted).
  • Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
  • Current certifications: PALS or ENPC, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and NIHSS.
  • Preferred certifications and skills include CEN and strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Meditech system experience is advantageous.

Shift Details:

  • 13-week assignment.
  • 12.5-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • 36 guaranteed hours weekly with on-call responsibilities.

Dress Code:

  • Navy scrubs for RNs; undershirts and jackets should be white, navy, or black.
  • Nails must be natural with no acrylics, kept under inch, clean, and free of chipped polish.
  • Hair should be off the shoulders and natural in color.
  • Tattoos must be covered when possible; visible piercings limited to ears only.
