Title:Sr. Analyst, Consumer Insights Location: Newton Support Center Job type: Hybrid Time Type: Full Time Job id: JR0044863 Job Description: Sr. Analyst, Consumer Insights Job Purpose This role will be the customer insights support for innovation, product experience and sensory testing at Panera. The person will work across key internal teams to understand product performance, help identify and size opportunities, and support the development and optimization of products for the company. Strong communication and collaboration skills will help ensure success in this role. Location: Boston, MA (hybrid) Duties & Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to: Facilitate research for sensory testing for Panera Bread: Engaging within Panera departments to plan, manage, and execute ongoing testing of different recipes, ingredients, and future developments Designing and programming customer surveys Managing the front-of-house sensory testing program including welcome, sign-in, survey troubleshooting, and food service Supporting and maintaining sensory testing equipment and documents Analyzing and presenting results to internal stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers Maintaining a historical database and benchmarking system of sensory test results Conducting focus groups with sensory participants Developing recommendations for future sensory improvements Other sensory related needs as defined by the business Assisting in Research & Insights Projects Support the development of design, fieldwork, analysis and reporting for research projects to answer key business questions. This will include particular focus on Design: Work with business partners across the Panera organization to identify business issues and opportunities, translate these into research objectives, and recommend appropriate research solutions to act against them Results: think and interrogate the data/results in order to provide a cohesive, strong, impactful story that answers the business partners key questions that are tangible and action oriented Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, effectively to be considered part of their team and a go-to expert Provide an informed and objective perspective as a subject matter expert to day-to-day business requests for consumer insights, effectively becoming the objective “voice of the consumer” Strong working relationship with our core trusted vendors Maintain and update research library to provide relevant and timely analysis, informed by previous learnings Qualifications (Education & Experience): Prior Experience 4-5 years of prior job-related experience required Food and/or sensory testing knowledge and/or experience would be highly regarded Experience with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including Product development and innovation such as concept screening, sensory or product testing Segmentation, market structure and other strategic consumer analyses e.g., drivers for growth Market research project support or management, including data analysis, interpretation, survey design and implementation, and report writing. This is a DIY environment. Experience working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to present analytical material in a concise and compelling manner Ability to work independently with support from manager Skill in data analysis, preferred experience in statistical and competitive evaluation and synthesis Working knowledge of syndicated store and/or panel data (such as from IRI, Crest or Nielsen) Proficiency with basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Proven project management and organizational skills Strong organizational and time management skills Strong writing and presentation skills Education BA/BS in business, market research, statistics, food science or other related field MBA a plus Food service industry experience a plus Working Conditions Required travel – up to 15-25% Competitive Pay $104,942 to $146,918 annually. The actual pay offered will be determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and geographical location.
