About the position We are seeking a Senior Big Data Statistical Analyst to join our growing, global company and shape the future of IDEXX’s big data business. You will be a core member of the Data Services team—a vibrant and committed group of entrepreneurial leaders paving the path for IDEXX in the commercial data space. This role can either be hybrid in our Westbrook, ME office or Virtual USA with a preference for EST. As a Data Analyst for IDEXX, you will serve as a trusted advisor and collaborative partner with both external and internal clients, providing critical veterinary clinical context to translate high-priority business challenges into analytical projects leveraging IDEXX data. You will also work closely with product and engineering teams to scale insights-driven innovation into impactful product deliverables that enhance value for our customers. You are a data driven problem solver and leverage your business acumen to forensically identify creative analytical plans that derive high impact business insights. You have exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent presence, possesses strong situational agility and are comfortable with ambiguity. You share responsibility for content creation of client deliverables with a team of senior advanced analysts and are comfortable presenting complex content to various levels of an organization. In this role: You will lead and support collaborative efforts to identify customer data challenges, designs and executes workplans to prototype and insights that address critical external business questions. Collaborate with external and internal customers to develop insight reports and presentations. You will ensure high level of quality in all aspects of work (coding, QA, customer deliverables). Conduct data validation and collaborate to resolve data-oriented problems such as missing data, duplicate or incorrect data. You will work on complex problems in which analysis of data readiness requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. You will work on significant and unique issues. You will collaborate with software product teams, working to integrate insights into IDEXX insight product to enhance value to our customers. You will participate on customer account teams in a supporting role. Responsibilities may include peer relationship management, written and verbal communications and periodic account reviews. You will build company and industry domain expertise and stay abreast of key industry drivers. Requirements • 5+ years of relevant experience. • Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. • Experience in using analytical/statistical software packages (such as R, SAS, SQL, etc.) to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information derived from large data sources. • SQL programming experience required. • Understands various database structures and common methods in data transformation. • Experience working with big data technologies such as Databricks and Snowflake or multi-million record relational database structures • Ability to clearly communicate the results of data analysis to a variety of audiences. • Demonstrates ability to visually represent data and business insights (including data visualization) in a manner that “tells” a story. • Able to independently interact with external client contacts at multiple levels. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Able to explain complex problems and concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. • Demonstrates active-listening skills. • Excellent organization and time management skills. • Demonstrated initiative in resolving problems, balancing conflicting requirements in partnership with others. • Versatile team player that demonstrates good customer focus and exhibits innovative thinking. • Works collaboratively to meet shared objectives. • Strong business acumen and intellectually curious. • Instills trust and demonstrates situational agility. • Ability to function in a fast-paced high energy environment.
