Job role: Senior Executive/ Assistant Manager- Accounts

 Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to handle daily store accounting, cash and bank reconciliation, purchase accounting, and GRN (Goods Receipt Note) management for our apparel business. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Tally and Genysis software, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles applicable to the retail/apparel sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. E- commerce, Store Accounting & Daily Operations:

Record and verify daily store sales, discounts, and returns. Monitor cash, card, UPI, and online collections and ensure accuracy in reporting. Ensure proper accounting of store expenses with supporting vouchers and bills. Coordinate with store managers/cashiers for deposit slips and transaction reports. Prepare and maintain online sales reports for transactions generated across various sales platforms. Perform reconciliation of online sales data from different platforms to ensure accuracy and completeness. Conduct debtor reconciliations related to sales from multiple online platforms and follow up on discrepancies.


2. Cash & Bank Reconciliation:

Reconcile daily cash deposits with POS reports and bank statements. Identify and resolve discrepancies in deposits or transaction mismatches. Track pending deposits and follow up with stores and banks for resolution.


3. Purchase Accounting & GRN Management:

Record purchase invoices, verify supplier bills against GRN (Goods Receipt Notes). Ensure correct posting of input taxes (GST) and other charges. Reconcile supplier statements and maintain an up-to-date creditor ledger. Coordinate with the store and purchase department for vendor and material-related issues.


4. Software & Systems Management:

Maintain accounting records and transactions in Tally ERP and Genysis software. Generate reports and MIS as required from both systems. Support integration and reconciliation between POS (Genysis) and accounting system (Tally).


5. Reporting & Compliance:

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for sales, deposits, and purchase summaries. Assist in month-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations. Support the finance team during internal and statutory audits with necessary records.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation, and purchase processes. Proficient in Tally ERP and Genysis software (mandatory). Working knowledge of GST and basic tax compliance. Excellent Excel skills for report preparation and data analysis. Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong coordination and communication skills for interaction with stores and vendors.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent. Experience: 3–6 years in accounting, preferably in the apparel or retail industry. Hands-on experience with store-level accounting, GRN, purchase entries, and reconciliations.

Work Conditions:

Based at Head Office / Regional Office with regular coordination with stores and vendors.
