Type of employment: This is a contractual role under Project Management Unit (PMU) of GeM.

Location: This position is based in Delhi.

Job Responsibilities

  • Litigation Management and advising the company on all aspects related to pre-litigation strategies. Collaborating with other departments for timely inputs to file petition / affidavits/ replies before the Court and identifying issues on receipt of information where order from the court will be required for protection of interest of GeM. Review of affidavits/ legal documents drafted by GeM's Legal Counsel.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts. Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as SLAs, MOUs, RFPs, NDAs, Terms & Conditions, etc.
  • Drafting and filing of police complaints / F.I.Rs. and follow up with the police authorities regarding the same.
  • Tracking latestlegal developments / notifications/ regulatory requirements and updatingthe legal formats, and clauses, from time to time. Providing legal advice to business departments including interpretation/ views on various legal issues.
  • Providing sound legal advice and recommendations to aid the Board and senior management of the company in the decision-making process.
  • Drafting of legal notices/ show cause notices/ replies to notices received. Collaborating with various departments for timely inputs to prepare replies to the legal notices received and timely issuing of legal notices on receipt of information from business / other teams.
  • Database management: Act as the custodian of all legal files / contracts and keep track of all on- going court cases. Co-ordination with various internal departments and the nominated Legal Counsel of GeM.
  • Develop sound legal implementation of business practices to prevent legal exposure and minimize liability
  • Drafting and review of internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance of all departments.
  • Any other responsibility as assigned from time to time

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 9 years of work experience with a reputed lawyer/ law firm and/or in house at a company (experience in the e-commerce/IT / technology or related space or government sector will be an added advantage)
  • Desirable areas of practice:Civil, Commercial, Arbitration, Contract Management, Intellectual property, and IT/ Privacy laws
  • Awareness of the existingand new legal and regulatory requirements

Other desirable Skill Sets

  • Strong peoplemanagement and leadership skills.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced high growth environment.

Educational Qualifications

Essential- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from a reputedinstitute/ University Desirable- Master's degree in law (LLM) from a reputedinstitute/ University

GeM selection committee reserves the right to relax or extend the eligibility criteria and educational qualifications.

Incase the numbers of applications received are very high, GeM reserves the right to shortlist candidates and invite only shortlisted candidates for interview round.

The crucial date for determining eligibility will be the last date of receipt of applications. No applications shall be entertained under any circumstances after the stipulated date. Incomplete applications shall be rejected.

Applicants should note that mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria may not ensure consideration for short listing for interview.
