Software Sales Representative

Position Overview

The Software Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for the company’s software products and solutions. This role requires strong consultative selling skills, the ability to understand technical products, and a results-driven mindset.

The ideal candidate is proactive, persuasive, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and inbound leads.
  • Research target accounts and key decision-makers.
  • Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline.

2. Sales Presentations & Product Demos

  • Conduct product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Clearly communicate software features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.

3. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Understand customer pain points and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Follow up consistently to nurture long-term partnerships.

4. Negotiation & Closing

  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and contracts.
  • Negotiate terms and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams as needed.

5. CRM & Reporting

  • Update CRM systems with accurate sales activities and forecasts.
  • Track KPIs and meet monthly/quarterly sales goals.
  • Provide regular pipeline and revenue reports to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5+ years of experience in B2B software or SaaS sales.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and SaaS models.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Knowledge of SaaS subscription models and licensing.
  • Ability to understand APIs, integrations, and technical workflows (preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
