Position Summary: The Sr. Data Engineering and Report Visualization Manager, leads the end-to-end strategy, development, and delivery of enterprise data reporting and visualization solutions. This role bridges advanced data engineering practices with modern analytics and visualization design to empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position oversees teams responsible for BI infrastructure, data modeling, ETL processes, and Power BI dashboarding. The Senior Manager ensures the reliability of key data systems—including billing, operations, sales, and performance analytics—while establishing governance standards, scalable frameworks, and data storytelling best practices. This role partners with leaders across departments such as Operations, Sales, Finance, and Marketing, as well as Executive Leadership, to deliver trusted insights that inform strategic decisions and operational excellence. This is a remote position reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. What you will do: Strategic Leadership • Define and execute the enterprise strategy for data engineering, reporting, and visualization, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and governance policies. • Drive the evolution of data systems and reporting infrastructure to deliver reliable,self-service analytics across the business. • Lead organizational adoption of Power BI and arenaflex Fabric as enterprise reporting platforms. • Establish standard KPI frameworks, metadata documentation, and enterprise data models. • Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic objectives into measurable metrics and reporting insights. • Continuously improve data architecture and performance to meet future analytics demands. Operational and Technical Excellence • Oversee design and delivery of scalable BI and visualization solutions using:Power BI (Desktop, Service, Deployment Pipelines), arenaflex Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Data Activator, Spark, Python), Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake) • Ensure accuracy and integrity of billing and financial reporting data pipelines through consistent validation and process monitoring and governed ETL/ELT processes. • Lead development of tabular models, semantic layers, and data marts that support standardized metrics and cross-departmental analytics. • Oversee ETL/ELT data ingestion, transformation, and storage within governed, high-performing data environments. • Implement and oversee governance practices – including dataset certification, version control,role-based data access, and alignment with IT and Governance teams to maintain compliance, security, and data accuracy standards. • Manage BI infrastructure and integrations with arenaflex Teams, SharePoint, and Fabric Apps, conducting regular performance, scalability, and arenaflex optimization reviews to ensure efficient reporting and collaboration. People Leadership • Provide strategic and technical leadership to a high-performing analytics team—driving talent development, cross-functional delivery, and a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.(Master’s preferred). • 10+years of experience in BI, data visualization, and data engineering. • 5+years of leadership experience managing data engineering or BI development teams. • Expertise in Power BI including advanced DAX, semantic modeling, and performance tuning. • Deep experience with Azure Data Services, arenaflex Fabric, and modern data warehouse architecture. • Proven success implementing enterprise reporting strategies, governance practices, and KPI frameworks. • Experience with Power BI administration, deployment pipelines, and self-service enablement. • Familiarity with additional visualization tools (Tableau, Domo, D3.js) and scripting in Python. • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, and documentation standards. • Demonstrated ability to present analytical results to senior executives and non-technical stakeholders. • Skilled in agile project management, planning, and prioritization. • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. • Proven ability to build high-performing, results-driven teams in a remote environment. • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality. • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 10%);will include some overnight travel. Remote with Travel: Work environment is primarily indoors at home, customer or vendor site, or other business meeting venue; exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions during travel, and exposure to hazardous driving and traffic conditions. Compensation: $160,000 to $180,000 plus 10% determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
