Job Title: Test Automation Architect Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Florida) Position Type: W2 - Contract Note: Client prioritizing candidates with Mainframe / COBOL testing experience, Test Architect background, and strong customer-facing skills. Role Overview: The Test Automation Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level testing strategies across complex systems. The role involves defining test architectures, establishing automation frameworks, and enabling overall testing excellence for application development, ERP, and Mainframe transformation initiatives. This is a client-facing consulting role requiring strong technical, architectural, and advisory skills. Key Responsibilities: Testing Strategy & Architecture: • Design scalable and enterprise-grade test architectures aligned with business & technical goals. • Define end-to-end testing strategy—functional, regression, integration, performance, security. • Promote shift-left testing, continuous testing, and integration of automation with arenaflex/CD. Automation Engineering • Develop and implement automation frameworks (UI, API, performance, security). • Work with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, REST Assured, Postman, JMeter, Gatling. • Implement AI-driven, RPA, or low-code/no-code automation where needed. Quality Governance & Best Practices • Establish QA processes, standards, and metrics for testing performance and quality. • Oversee test data management, environment readiness, and test orchestration. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. • Mentor clients and internal teams across test automation and performance engineering. Consulting & Client Leadership • Lead assessments of client testing maturity, gaps, and improvement opportunities. • Build testing strategies, Test Centers of Excellence, and long-term transformation roadmaps. • Facilitate workshops and guide clients through testing program setup and execution. • Partner with cross-functional teams to build reusable testing service offerings. Required Skills & Experience • 7+ years in software testing, 3+ years as a test or automation architect. • Strong programming skills in Java / Python / JavaScript / C#. • Deep expertise in automation tools: Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Playwright. • Strong API testing exposure: Postman, REST Assured, Karate. • Performance testing: JMeter, Gatling. • Experience with DevOps & arenaflex/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps. • Cloud testing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices testing methodologies. • Strong knowledge of TDD, BDD, risk-based testing. • Excellent communication, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills. • Must have experience with Mainframe or COBOL-based testing. Preferred Qualifications: • ISTQB Advanced Test Architect, Certified Agile Tester, AWS/Azure DevOps certifications. • Experience with containerized testing: Docker, Kubernetes. • Exposure to AI-driven testing, RPA, or low-code automation platforms. • Prior consulting experience with test transformation projects.
