The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a fleet of 10 trucks and 10 drivers, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Dispatcher will act as the main point of contact between drivers, brokers, and the operations team, building strong relationships with brokers to facilitate smooth logistics operations. The position requires a dependable and detail-oriented individual capable of managing daily tasks while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities: • Dispatching: Assign and schedule drivers to pick up and deliver loads based on customer needs, truck availability, and route efficiency. Each Dispatcher will manage a fleet of 10 trucks and 10 drivers. • Routing and Scheduling: Develop efficient and arenaflex-effective routes for all deliveries. Ensure timely arrivals and optimal fuel usage by adjusting routes as necessary. • Broker Relationships: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with brokers to secure load opportunities and ensure consistent communication for scheduling and routing. • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, brokers, and clients. Address concerns, provide updates, and resolve any issues related to deliveries, routes, or cargo. • Monitor Deliveries: Track real-time progress of shipments, ensuring timely delivery and proactively handling any delays or complications. • Compliance: Ensure all drivers adhere to DOT regulations, including hours of service, safety requirements, and vehicle maintenance schedules. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records for all dispatch activities, including trip logs, driver updates, load tracking, and client communications. • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by updating clients on delivery statuses, addressing concerns, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. • Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve issues such as delays, accidents, or route changes, minimizing disruption to operations and customers. • Fleet Management: Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained, and drivers follow necessary protocols for vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety standards. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations Manager and other team members to ensure smooth operational flow and adjust to any changing needs or priorities. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in logistics or related field preferred). • At least 2 years of experience as a truck dispatcher or in a similar role within the transportation/logistics industry. • Proven ability to manage a fleet of trucks (10 trucks per Dispatcher). • Strong understanding of DOT regulations, trucking industry standards, and best practices. • Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to secure consistent load opportunities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with drivers, brokers, and customers. • Proficiency in using dispatch software and arenaflex Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple drivers simultaneously. • Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle unexpected challenges or emergencies. • Must provide verifiable job and personal references to be considered for the position. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk. • Ability to use a computer and telephone for long periods.
